Membership Terms

1. Status of these terms

These terms are not yet final. HILA's legal structure and constitution are still being established.

2. Expressions of interest only

The current online form is only an expression of interest. Submitting it, or otherwise using this website, does not create legal membership of HILA.

3. When membership begins

Membership will only begin after formal acceptance by HILA and payment of any required fee.

4. Categories, fees and rights

Final membership categories, fees, rights and conditions depend on HILA's constitution and legal structure, and will be confirmed before memberships are activated.

5. Register of members and legal rights

If HILA becomes a company limited by guarantee or another member-based legal entity, formal members may be entered on a legal register of members and may have rights under the law and HILA's constitution. The exact details recorded on any register, and the rights that apply, will be disclosed before formal membership opens. No such rights exist yet.

6. Application approval

Applications may require approval under HILA's governing rules.

7. Member conduct

Members will be expected to follow a code of conduct consistent with HILA's values of respect, inclusion and integrity. The code will be published before memberships open.

8. Renewals, cancellation and refunds

Any renewal, cancellation and refund arrangements will be disclosed clearly before paid memberships open. There will be no automatic recurring charges without clear, informed agreement.

9. Privacy

Personal information is handled under our Privacy Policy.

10. Complaints and disputes

A process for complaints and disputes will be set out in HILA's governing documents.
